One of the BEST things I had for Miles when he started to grow and become more mobile was an activity center. To be honest, I really wish I had done more research in finding one like the Fisher-Price® 3-in-1 Spin & Sort Activity Center (true story)! This one in particular will keep baby busy when they’re ready to sit-in and spin in the seat for play by engaging baby’s tacticle, visual, and auditory senses with a variety of textures, bright colours, and fun rattles. As your little one grows, you can snap on the activity pods to the shape-sorter plate and let them start playing as they sit up on the floor or on your lap! Finally, once you have a toddler like Miles, and they’re ready to stand and walk, you can make the activity center into a toddler play table. You’ll be able to change the activity center to keep baby busy at different stages during playtime!
Miles is 18 months old and he absolutely LOVES to sort shapes and watching them fall through the correct shapes! He’s obsessed with also taking off each activity pod piece and trying to reassemble them back onto the tray. I can see why activities like this one help him develop his gross motor skills in addition to helping engage trial and error skills. One of my favourite things to do is to watch him learn this way. Although he prefers to use the play table most days, I’ll also snap on the activity pods to the shape-sorter plate and let him carry it around the house (just like how you would use it when baby sits up).
The Fisher-Price® 3-in-1 Spin & Sort Activity Center is loaded with customizable play, making it more versatile and help gets you get the best bang for buck in my opinion. As a mama, I totally understand that some days may feel longer than others. An activity center like this one helps me get through the day just a bit easier.
Something else I should mention is that the seat pad is completely machine washable. If you have a little one, you already know how dirty things can get around the house. With the seat pad being machine washable it makes cleaning that much simpler for busy parents like me. Lastly, an added feature is the fact that the activity center can be stored easily by disassembling the legs – something I find helpful when baby is playing in it daily and may need to be stored if you’re living in a small space like ours!
Other than the fact that you can plop baby in the activity center when they’re ready to play, this multi-use activity center has so many other benefits that help strengthen your baby’s development- making one thing easier for all parents!
