Dear Miles,
Before you, your mom and dad loved to travel.
We’ve travelled to places like Iceland and Morocco all in one trip.
Before you, we loved to take naps.
We’d take naps all weekend long to catch up from a busy week.
Before you, we were silly with each other.
Your dad loved to hide and scare mama…like all the time.
Before you, we loved our weekend brunches.
We’d try new spots but always end up at our favourites.
Before you, we slept in.
Especially on the weekends.
Before you, mom and dad spent a lot of time together.
So much so that we ran out of shows to watch on Netflix.
But after you, your mom and dad love to travel with you.
We’ve already been to Mexico, Vancouver and even the Pacific North West.
After you, we love taking naps with you.
When you were smaller, we’d snuggle close to you and take naps all day long!
After you, we are silly with you.
You and dad hide together to scare mama now.
After you, we love our weekend brunches with you.
Home cooked eggs and toast are now my new favourite.
After you, we sleep in with you.
Some days you decide that mom and dad are in need of a tad more z’s.
After you, mom and dad spend a lot of time together with you.
Sometimes you like to get in our space, but you give the evenings to us.
After you, our lives are full of laughter, love, and a whole lot of Miles time…
But we wouldn’t have it any other way.
